6 years Old and Shopping at the Scooter Store.

Xander's pink eye has spread from his right eye to his left. He had a miserable night. He and I pulled the hidabed out and watched Land Before time 12. His eyes were looking better by morning but he was still saying they hurt. He's been on the antibiotics for over 24 hours which should mean he's not contagious anymore and so far no one else has gotten it. He slept for most of the afternoon and was pretty unhappy when he woke up. As soon as he ate some supper and had a cup of juice he was doing better.Landon stepped on something sharp last night. We have yet to figure out what it was. I felt all around where he was but found nothing. He told me that now he is going to need a wheel chair from the scooter store. This afternoon his small poke split open and we had a mess. We got it under control and he has a bandaide with a sock on. Bandaides on the bottom of feet just don't mix as well as 6 year olds would like them to.Jadzia is proud of her new dress from Grandma. The dress is pink and has a princess, horse drawn carriage and castle on it. The princess has blonde hair and blue eyes just like Jadzia. She told everyone today that her dress had Princess Jadzia on it. I think Jadzia is the perfect name for her seeing as it means Princess.
Ronan has a busy few weeks coming up. Tomorrow starts his yearly appointments. After he gets through the annual June appointments July will bring two surgeries for him. He will have eye muscle surgery and more esophagus surgery.

Today I went shopping all alone. I was in search of a lady bug cake for Inara. I wanted to order it for a week from tomorrow (which is her birthday). All the places I went no one was in the business of making lady bug cakes. I decided to go back to the original plan and just make her one. I wasn't sure about time so I thought I'd just order one. But after finding nothing close to a lady bug cake I'm back to coming up with my own design. Instead of ordering one I picked up all the supplies I would need. Hopefully it will turn out cute. I'm still trying to process my baby turning one a week from tomorrow.

Storing the Winter Clothes

This morning I really didn't do much. The cold that had been threatening itself in my throat for the past three days finally made itself fully known. I did take the kids outside for a little bit because their energy levels were exceeding their mother's capacity. After stomping around in the grass for a little while we came back in so I could do winter clothes sorting.
I know we are into June and I am just now storing the winter clothes for the summer ones. The reason for this probably has many levels. One being that the weather has been peculiar this year and when we were well into May we would still have weather that seemed more like fall. But today I decided this heat wave we've been having is a sign that summer is well on its way.

The kids colored while I sorted clothes. Xander colored me a Toy Story picture. I told him it was fridge worthy for sure.Jadzia got a new Hershey's kisses shirt. She keeps telling everyone her shirt is made of chocolate and she can eat it.Here are more pictures of Inara standing. This one is cute because she is waving and pointing. She has already learned to multitask. Also she has added a new challenge to the mix. She has figured out how to squat down to pick something up.I was told a few times that the more children you have the less exciting their milestones become. I have found this to be untrue. I still get just as thrilled when Inara does something new as I did when Landon did something new.

Welcome To the Family Princess Lamb Face

Xander woke up with the same insistence as yesterday. Today was Bunny Rabbit's birthday. I reiterated to Xander that Bunny Rabbit had a birthday in March and we celebrated then. He told me that Bunny Rabbit promised to not have another Birthday until next year if we would just celebrate one more time. I foresaw this occurring when I made a late night trip to the grocery store last night to get the weekly groceries. I got the smallest cupcakes I could find and brought them home. Xander was very excited to see that I had already responded to his request. We let Xander blow Bunny Rabbit's candle out. After all Bunny Rabbit is invisible and incapable of such a feat. Suddenly it was Taloki's birthday as well (Landon's imaginary friend) what an astonishing coincidence so we had to have a candle and cupcake for Taloki. Yet another surprise a new imaginary friend has joined the Fullmer family ranks. Princess Lamb Face is officially Jadzia's imaginary friend. According to Jadzia she was born today but it is not her birthday. Princess Lamb Face is ...well a lamb that wears a pink princess dress with a pink cone princess hat.For the afternoon my mom and I had a shopping day and Inara tagged along. She caught smiles everywhere we went because every person we passed she greeted them with an enthusiastic "Hi!!!". I also found it funny about people's perspective on her size. The first lady asked how old Inara was and when I told her she said "Wow she's big." The very next lady asked how old Inara was and when I told her she said "Wow she's so tiny." I personally think she's just right.Inara humored me and was a adorable hat model. I couldn't resist because as we passed the baby section in Target there were around 20 different types of baby girl hats. Also this was her very first time sitting in a shopping cart. Before she'd always been in her carrier.
Earlier today about the time we were celebrating Happy Imaginary Friend Day I noticed Xander's right eye had a pink color to it. I asked if he'd scratched or poked it and he told me he hadn't but it was sore. By the time he got up from nap It was swollen and yucky. Pink eye. I took him to the doctor. Sure enough Bacterial pink eye. She gave him some ointment and told me if it was not better in two days to bring him back because they would need to wash it out. While we were waiting for his medicine he grew bored and hungry. I told him he could pick out a snack. He picked cookies and chocolate milk. I told him he could only have a few cookies and then save the rest. I think after eating on the car ride home he had saved around five out of the entire bag. That's what I get for not being specific.

The Disdain of Red Fruit Loops

Xander asked me if I could buy him doughnuts because tomorrow is Bunny Rabbit's birthday (his imaginary friend). I'm not sure if anyone remembers but Bunny Rabbit had a birthday in March. You can read that story here. As you can see Bunny Rabbit turned seven in March. I pointed this out to Xander and he informed that since Bunny Rabbits don't live as long they have more frequent birthdays. I was unsure how to combat his cleverness.

We found out today that our house will be renovated starting on June 27th. Everything has to be removed from the house and will be just like we are moving. We will be spending three to four weeks in a hotel while the work is being done. The kids are excited because of course a hotel equals a vacation even though we will be miles from our house. They are praying for a swimming pool and at this point we have no idea if the hotel we will be staying at will have a swimming pool.I'm going to look at the moving of items out of the house as a positive ordeal. Packed summer classes, five kids 6 and under, tons of summer medical appointments and therapies while trying to move everything out of the house seems overwhelming at first glance. But extreme organization is a must and in the end a better/safer house will result. One of the positive aspects is I'm hoping to find items we thought had previously been devoured into the lost item abyss. Second positive thing is we can deep clean everything. How often is one able to thoroughly sanitize all corners of their house. I'm looking forward to a fresh start in the cleaning department.

Lets see what else did we to do today. I tried to figure out how to extract stuck legos from Ronan's new ball popper. The older kids decided it would be fun to see what could pop out of the ball popper. The most entertaining had to be the fruit loops as they looked more like a cereal volcano that spread colorful ash throughout the living room. Yes, that was a fun cleaning exercise. One funny thing about kids is they have a super sensitive sensor to mom distractions. What played out is their mom distraction radar began to beep when mom was deep in concentration over Human Biology homework. Ignoring the previous warning that legos don't fit well in ball poppers they poured a bunch of legos into the tube. The unfortunate irony was that two got stuck in the same spot at the same time jamming them into place.I tried many creative avenues to remove the legos all of which were not in the least bit effective. The only option left is to disassemble the ball popper that is unless of course Isaac has a more ingenious idea and from my experience he usually does.
"Look Mom! no hands." Inara is getting braver. Now if she could just see standing and walking as less of means of entertainment and more of a practical means of transportation she'd be well into toddlerhood.

"Seriously, you expect me to eat this?" Inara does not like red fruit loops. She will eat every color but red. Don't ask me why because your guess is as good as mine. In the picture below the red fruit loop is not in the picture but you can see her extended hand which was holding the red fruit loop. You can see her intense rejection of the red fruit loop. She was very concerned.

New Glasses

The big kids are back!! They remembered right away they had science projects collecting dust and they were desperately itching to get at them. The very first one in the fore front was baiting and setting the Venus fly traps. The boys watched from the porch for awhile before finally realizing that my prediction of a long wait was accurate. We recently checked them again and no insects had entered the jars.

We built the hand from the hand book and then read facts about the hand. I would point to a bone on the hand skeleton and they would have to point to the corresponding bone in their own hands. They guessed right most of the time. They wanted to do their fiber optics set but I told them they had to wait for their dad. So when daddy came home he sat down to take a look at the set. We needed a 9 volt battery so we had to wait on completing the project. We have one now and we just have to wait for Daddy to return home. Inara watched her brothers and sister and figured out how her toy whistle works. She actually made it whistle. Her and Jadzia were quite the duet. Jadzia took a brief break from loving the color pink and had an entire two hours where purple was her favorite color. To celebrate she put on her purple tutu outfit and played with only purple toys like her purple streamer and hula hoop. After the two hours passed pink once again reigned the most favorable in Jadzia's mind.

I had some errands to run. I had to pick up Ronan's glasses, sign a release so they could have his records for surgery, go to the store and the chiropractor. Jadzia and I went with my sister in-law since she had to go to the store as well. We picked up Ronan's glasses and while we were there I decided other than Inara Jadzia was the only kid not to have an eye appointment and I set one up for her. I'm sure her vision is fine so it'll just be a check-up. We went to the store to pick up everything we needed. As a treat for Jadzia I let her pick out a cookie and juice box. The last stop was the chiropractor . Jadzia and I got adjusted. Jadzia loves being adjusted on the zebra couch thing. I got home to find a phone message saying Ronan's level of care had been decided. His level of care determines how much help he gets each month for various programs. There are three levels. Level one is the least medical problems, level 2 is moderate medical problems, and 3 is most severe medical problems. Ronan scored level 2. I was happy because I was expecting him to be 1 or 2 and since he scored 2 he gets more services.

Now to see his glasses are you ready.

Ok there isn't much of a difference other than the shape. They were supposed to be the same blue as his hearing aides but I think they checked dark blue instead of medium blue. There is a color difference from his old ones but I couldn't tell until I held them next to his old ones. The old ones are slate and the new ones are dark blue. I think he looks very distinguished. We are ignoring Isaac's nerd comments.
